If I run Workstation 8 and then I power on any virtual machine with its VMware Tools installed, it starts and it shuts down very slowly.

 

At this point, I can restart the same or other VMs without (or almost) slowing down.

 

Now, I activated the debug mode and I verified that, in the first case, the VM crashes after the login, while, in the second case, the VM work properly (see the attachment). Why?
